Bio: Wide Eyed Jane and the Flood was formed in early 2008 in Columbia MO by Andrew Fletcher and Jason Caton to try and materialize songs written mostly by Flo, and a couple by Caton. The musical connection between the two was apparent immediately, and in the months that followed the duo decided to put together a full fledged band. They first called upon distinguished Columbia percussionist Mike Bonnot, with whom Caton had played with in the early 2000's in the post jam band Next Exit. As fate would have it, Lori Lee, who had also played in Next Exit, would fill in on an early rehearsal when the scheduled bass player canceled at the last minuite. The chemistry between the four musicians was immediately palpable. From the first run through God Damned Pontiac, Fletcher and Caton felt they were on to something special. In need of a name they decided to take an ironic twist. The name just sort of "came about" during a Memorial Day barbecue, and seemed to describe what the founders felt was the essence of the band. Thus Wide Eyed Jane and the Flood was officially born. With the mantra "make art for art's sake", Wide Eyed Jane plays music about people. People and the events, emotions, and ideas that shape thier lives. Influenced by a wide range of music from Hank Williams, (I,II, and III) to Drive by Truckers, to Motley Crue and Pantera, Wide Eyed Jane plays music that is true, passionate, and real.

Too many teenagers running around.
I perform/attend for the music. It's a shame we are losing this local performance opportunity.
