Joni Zillig, known in the local electronic dance music community as an enthusiastic supporter, dancer and DJ, suffered a serious injury last month while in California. She fell from the second floor of a friend's home and fractured a vertebrae in her lower back. She had a dangerous chip removed that was pressing against her spinal chord,and was stabilized with screws. She has been released from a month long stay in intensive care with orders to stay near the hospital until mid-December. Fortunately she seems to have escaped permanent damage to her nerves and can now walk short distances.
Her husband Jared is with and caring for her, and her prospects for full recovery look good. H>... [Read More...]

mcooper writes: "Cooper's Landing is scheduling open mic sessions for Saturday evenings this winter. A well known local singer/songwriter will be hosting the sessions. Young singer/songwriters are encouraged to attend these open mic sessions. It is a great way to meet established musicians from our area. Later in the winter selected participants will have the opportunity to be video recorded by MoRivCC (www.morivcc.org). The videos will be added to the MoRivCC video archive and some of them will be shown on CAT TV and the MoRivCC-You Tube website. (http://www.youtube.com/morivcc)

The Heart of Missouri Chorus are members of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide educational organization of women singers who perform 4-part acappella harmony.
The Hearts are seeking quality women singers who have a good ear for pitch and who are interested in performing and the challenge of ongoing musical education.

The Bluebird Music and Arts Festival is October 16+17,2009/Columbia,MO at various venues.
Tickets are $15 a day, or $25 for the weekend.
